Those who would like to know more about nature and animals, but doesn’t have time
either courage to adventure themselves in long forest walks, may already commemorate. Since 1995, the Bosque da Ciência offers ecological options,
like tracks and vivariums with the main species of the Amazon Rain Forest.
The main attractions of the park are the vivariums of arinhanhas and alligators,
peixe-boi tanks (aquatic mammals), botanical garden, orchid green houses, Science House, bee’s house, among others. In the scion vivarium there are
Amazon typical plants at sale, especially fruit trees like guaraná, cacau and cupuaçú.
All of this is inside Manaus’s urban perimeter, as the park operates inside the INPA
(National Institute of Amazon’s Research). There’s also a building where are performed expositions of plastic artists, book releases and other cultural
activities on the forest
