| Manaus - Parks - Mindu Park |
Mindu’s Park in one of the few places where extinction endangered monkeys may
live in peace in the middle of nature. One of the typical residents of this place is the sauim-de-coleira (collar-sauim), a small simian that
exists only in the Manaus region.
As the own name says, the sauim-de-coleira has brown hair all over its body and
white hair in its neck, which resembles a collar. Although small, this monkey has extremely sharp paws, which helps to go up and down on trees.
On the trails, visitors can walk safely through different kinds of woods and may
also visit the library and the information center about the environment. Mindu’s Park has also an orchid green house, an herbal bed with
aromatic and therapeutic properties and hanging trails.
The local infrastructure is so complete that Mindu’s Park has even an amphitheater
with capacity to 600 people and parking lot, everything well signalized.
