Located in the building that hosted “Casa de Detenção” (city’s jail), Centro de
Turismo became one of the most demanded places in Natal by those who gets interested in art of various kinds. There it’s also possible to obtain
tips on tours.
Inaugurated in 1976, the building constructed on a hill in neoclassic style hosts
today about 35 stores responsible for commercialize craftsmanship products, from cloths and laces to collars, purses and paintings. The place
also hosts folkloric presentation and celebrations, with much typical food sold in the bars and restaurants of the building. Registered by IPHAN
as National Patrimony, “Centro de Turismo” also has a wonderful view of the sea and Potengi River.
