Located at Natal’s downtown, the building’s construction begun in 1973, being
finished in 1988. Since it started to work, the image of Nossa Senhora do Rosário, found at Potengi River, was sent there, as well as the image
of Nossa Senhora de Fátima, brought from Portugal.
Main catholic temple of the city, it’s from there that the main preparations for
“Auto de Natal” leaves, staged every year on a stage assembled in front of the church. The play consists in telling the story of Jesus Christ,
mixed to elements of the folklore of Rio Grande do Norte.
