Natal - Others - Morro do Careca

Morro do Careca

Morro do Careca

One of the main tour spots of Natal, “Morro do Careca” is located at Ponta Negra Beach and is considered as one of the most beautiful postcards of the region. Being 80m high, the hill is formed by two dunes taken by vegetation typical from the region, making the climate more pleasant, besides helping to avoid erosion.

As time pass and the number of visits increase, the vegetation got damaged, making “Coordenadoria do Meio Ambiente” to promote a reforestation work in an attempt of recover the place. The climbing in the hill became prohibited since then, but many tourists climb it anyway.
