Teatro Municipal was inaugurated in 1770. There, many plays written by
inconfidentes, among them Cláudio Manoel da Costa and Alvarenga Peixoto, were staged. The facade differs a little from constructions in
baroque style.
The house was constructed in a "U" shape. It has lateral staterooms in the
auditorium, illumination equipment and has capacity for 400 people. One of the curious stories of the place is the one of the discovery of
paintings about drama and comedy, during the 1985’s reform.
