Nossa Senhora do Rosário Church has a circular construction, an almost registered
mark of Minas Gerais architecture, and a simple façade, inspired in the baroque art. It was built where formerly there was a chapel, in
1709.
The land was donated by Senado da Câmara and, due to the lack of documentations
and other registers, it’s impossible to know the exact date of construction. But historians tells that in 1762 the works were very advanced.
It’s also known as Church Nossa Senhora do Rosário dos Pretos.
The sanctuary and all its patrimony is protected by IPHAN (Instituto do
Patrimônio Histórico e Artístico Nacional).
