Santa Efigênia Church is dated from 1733. Among the work responsible is Manuel
Francisco Lisboa, who made the grates and wooden works. The blueprint of the sanctuary is also attributed to him.
There are four altars in the church’s interior, all of them full of details.
Other prominences are two paintings, which pictures São Domingos and São Francisco praying at Christ’s feet.
There’s a legend that says that the temple was constructed by Chico Rei, a slave
who conquered the freedom working on a gold mine in the region.
