| Ouro Preto - Winter Festival |
For those who don’t enjoy much excitement and different kinds of cultural
manifestation, a good thing is Winter Festival of Ouro Preto, which happens in the city during July. The festivities involve dance presentations,
theater, shows with many artists, art workshops and circus. Each year, a different theme is adopted, many times making homage to those who are
part of the construction of the city, like Tarsila do Amaral, Oswald de Andrade and Mário de Andrade.
In the musical program, several artists of different styles are invited to cheer
tourists and local residents.
The municipal theater hosts from plays to book highlights and circus shows, as
well as in Casa de Gonzaga and in the streets and squares of Ouro Preto. Preservation rules of the historic patrimony and culture valorization
are taught in lectures and workshops, where it’s possible to learn something about baroque art, eco-tourism, painting, craftsmanship and
photography. |
