Porto Alegre - Preservation Areas - Pintada Island

The Pintada island is part of the State Park of Delta do Jacuí. The predominate economical activity in the island is the fishing. A secular tradition, inherited from the Azores colonizers who in the 18th century, supplied fish, vegetable, fruit and milk to Porto Alegre. The Pintada island is connected to the continent through the Guaíba bridge, officially called Travessia Regis Bettencourt.
