| Porto Alegre - Parks - Farroupilha Park |
The Farroupilha Park is one of the most traditional parks of Porto Alegre. It is an
immense green area with a lake and 45 monuments. The park measures 370 thousand m2. The monument "Expedicionário", for
example, represents an arch of the triunph, in honor of the brazilian soldiers who fought in Europe during the 2nd World War. Inside the park
there is also a mini zoo, a park for childre, besides a soccer field, bocha court, athletic track, bike lane and gymnastic equipment. The auditorium
sits 4500 people.
On Saturdays there is a agro-ecological fair with organic products. On Sundays,
there is a traditional handicraft fair: o Brique da Rendenção. There are more then 300 exhibitions in general.
