The first experiences in car
rentals in Brazil were made in the decade of the 60's. They were small outfit,
lacking specialized techniques due to the small demand. In 1970, stranger and
well structures companies appeared, reaching a significant degree of
professionalism in the industry of rentals.
In the beginning
of 1981, through the Volkswagen, the planning of a rental company that was
intended to be a national ambit and to adapt a franchising system, with an
expansion system of business. In the second semester of the same year, Varig was
invited to integrate this new enterprise, acting as a stock holder of the
Interlocadora.
In this way, in
August of 1982, the Interlocadora started its activities, being made up by stock
of Varig and by a group of rental firm in the south of the country until the end
of 1995.
Today, the
business and the development of the mark is done by the Grupo Baida, made up by
a group of vehicle dealers that have the object of making the name a leader of
the market. |
