The famous district of Ipanema, in Rio de Janeiro, arisen after the foundation of
Ipanema Villa, in 1894. The first residents had to live with floods and also bear the various insects that existed there. As time went by, the
district grew, but only from 1902, when the trams came, Ipanema became a developed neighborhood. Who could imagine that a precarious place would
become a tourism spot?
Luxury apartments and hotels, shopping centers, fine restaurants and pleasant bars
make one of the most sophisticated districts in Rio de Janeiro. Ipanema is the right place to those who likes fun and excitement. The days in
Ipanema are very active; people ride bicycles, walk through the walkway and practice sports like volleyball and beach soccer. To the bohemians,
the bars offer the best in Rio’s nightlife, with several appetizers, delicious drinks and live music.
Beside the several leisure options, tourists may also have fun at Ipanema’s Beach,
a gorgeous place, full of beautiful and famous people. It’s not by coincidence that it inspired the music “Garota de Ipanema” (Girl from Ipanema),
from Tom Jobim. It’s one of the most frequented beaches by tourists in the whole world. |
