The Cultural Center of the Banco do Brasil of Rio de Janeiro was inaugurated on
October 12, 1989. Who knows if the date of the inauguration wasn't on purpose. After all, culture is part of the evolution of the human being
and is necessary to be obtain starting from the childhood. Anyway, the children as well as the adults received a wonderful present.
For those who don't know it, the Cultural Center of the Banco do Brasil has in
its ample area, theatres, a museum, restaurant, bonbonnière, tea house, cinema, videoteca and an immense library. For students and researches,
the library offers more than 140 thousand books on various subjects, rare pieces and even a collection of great authors. Now, in the videoteca,
videos with the principal images of Brazil are filed.
Information about the history of the Banco do Brasil is not lacking. The Cultural
Center preserve even the furniture of the old rooms that, in the past decades, were used by presidents and directors of the bank. In this place,
there is a collection where various events that were held and organized by the Cultural Center of the Banco do Brasil are filed in VCR and
audio.
