Inaugurated in 1938, Julio Prestes Station was projected with the objective of
facilitating the access to Sorocaba and São Roque. It’s located next to Luz Station, actually a great train and subway station. It has a cultural
complex that also works as seat of “Orquestra Sinfônica do Estado de São Paulo” (Osesp), where musicians rehearse and play sporadically.
Julio Prestes Station passed through a reform to revitalize the building’s
restoration, so it could attend the public and also host the orchestra in the best way. There are rooms with special covering to improve the
acoustic for rehearses and a library for music scripts.
