OUR LADY ACHIROPITA'S PARTY
(Festa Achiropita)
 The
Achiropita’s party has a connection with the Bixiga area due to the Italian
community that arrived and met the other community that was already living there.
This party has been happening since the begining of the century and it is organized
by the Italian community in Sao Paulo. Once a year in August this festivity is
held at the main area of Bela Vista with the best of italian food. It still
has religious celebrations such as novena, procession across the street with Our
Lady. |
