| São Paulo - Sports - São Silvestre's Race |
This
competition was idealized by the journalist Cásper Líbero and it was inspired in
a French nightly run where the competitors held fire torches during the circuit.
São Silvestre’s race is one of the traditions of the last day of the year in São
Paulo since the first time when it was disputed at midnight December 31,1924. São Silvestre is known all over the world and is part of the international race
calendar. This name is in honor of the saint of the day. |
