Art Museum of São Paulo – MASP – is the most important museum of Latin America.
With almost six thousand pieces on its collection, taking turns in temporary exhibitions, MASP has the most expressive works of Raphael, Van
Gogh, Picasso, Velázquez, Goya, Cézanne, Portinari, Renoir, Botticcelli and many others.
Idealized by a group of friends of innovative ideas related to arts, MASP was
inaugurated in 1947, October by the precursor of radio-diffusion systems in Brazil: Assis Chateaubriand. Covered with glass instead of walls,
MASP also hosts photos and videos exhibitions, lectures and music shows. For researches, the museum has available a video and movie library,
pinacoteca and library, besides art.
