Horto Florestal |
Springs, lakes, monkeys and squirrels can be seen during tours at Horto Florestal,
officially called as Alberto Löfgren Park, which has areas especially projected for children’s entertainment, like the paddle boats, the train
ride, which goes around the whole park, and the “Chalana” (a small ferry) rides. There’s also a space reserved for activities with wooden
playgrounds.
For adults, besides the vast green area, which suggests nice walks and resting
afternoons, Horto Florestal hosts Octávio Vecchi Museum, opened in 1931 and counting with a collection of wooden pieces carved between furniture
and smaller objects. Next to the memorial there’s the mark that registers the passage of “Trópico de Capricórnio”. There’s also the Summer Palace
of the State Government.
