Ayrton Senna's Grave |
Next to a “ipê-rosa” lies the grave of one of the greatest pilots of the brazilian
auto sports, killed in 1994 on a accident during a F1 Grand Prix. Located at “Cemitério do Morumbi”, the tomb highlighted by the Brazil’s flag
is always covered with flowers, brought by fans and also by the mother of Rubens Barrichello, who according to a local flower store, order a
small vase of chrysanthemums every Saturday.
The frequency increases during weekends and holidays, although not everyone,
praying for their dead, stop to pray for Ayrton Senna. Actually, “Cemitério do Morumbi” is an obligatory stop for the fans of auto sports and
even tourists coming from other countries, with the japanese the biggest public. Souvenir stores and flower shops can be found close to the
cemetery.
