Vilma Nassif – She was born at Igarapava, São Paulofs country side, in 1937.
Initiated her art production in 1950. Graduated in Interiorf Decoration and
frequents painting ateliers since then. The themes present in her work are
leaves and flowers, stylized sea and landscapes. Participated in innumerous
exhibitions in Brazil.
Jurandi Assis – Born in 1939 at Santa Maria da Vitória, country side of Bahia.
Drawer and painter, reveals on his works his love for his homeland. The
folkloric themes, the daily routine of his childhood scenes, are expressed with
much poetry and tenuous colors that involve us in the typical scenery of the
brazilian people. He participated in many exhibits in Brazil and has innumerous
works in Europe, Japan and USA, where his art is highly appreciated.
M. Schiaz – For the artist, his intervention in the reality of the image, is
fundamental for the development of his work, in the composition structure as
well as in the color harmony. Themes like nature, urban landscapes, houses and
the cities of Minas Gerais are part of the work of this young artist.
Sou Kit – Young artist, whose work expresses emotion and technique. Poetic
themes of interiors with flowers, nature, landscapes and tree logs are explored
by this artist, whose painting is poetry with colors and vigorous and precise
brushes, on enchanting gestures.
Rosa Falvella – Natural of São Paulo. Self taught artist, the theme of her works
are flowers, nature and, actually, abstraction. With emphasis in the shapes, the
artist develops the language of simplicity, amplitude and color in traditional
themes.
José A da Silva – Born in 1909 in Sales de Oliveira/ SP, died in 1996, in São
Paulo. Started his career during the decade of 1940. Participated in gBienal
Internacional de São Pauloh in 1951 and in the Bienal of Venice in 1952 and
1966. In 1992, gMuseu Nacional de Belas Artesh (National Museum of Fine Arts),
in Rio de Janeiro and gPaço das Artesh, in São Paulo, presented the exhibition
gJosé Antonio da Silva: 5 decades of Brazilian Arth. Artist of primitive style,
pictured his daily routine on his works.
Tânia Pagliato – Born in Sorocaba/SP, artist of colorful works, since 1990,
expresses in her Works the beauty of nature and the human soul, with extreme
poetry and an involving coloring. The artist says: gMy work is turned to what I
consider beautiful. To me, beautiful is what brings joy to our eyes and heart. I
look for the beauty in the simple things of life, a breakfast, an afternoon tea,
a sunset, a sunrise... I try to play with colors, with the beauty of flowers...h
Ana Goldberger – Born in São Paulo/SP in 1947. Designer, recorder and painter,
she took courses of cinema, esthetic and artfs history, visual communication and
created book covers. She created carpets (broderies), and has some of her works
exhibited at Paris and at gII Trienal de Tapeçaria no MAMh, in São Paulo. Since
1980, she dedicates herself exclusively to painting. Participated in exhibitions
in Brazil, Portugal, Paris, USA and Germany.
Di Cavalcante – Emiliano Di Cavalcante. Born in 1897 at Rio de Janeiro/ RJ, died
in 1976 at Rio de Janeiro / RJ. Beginning in 1913 as sketcher and cartoonist, he
was one of the mentors of gSemana de 22h, really important art movement, which
occurred in São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro in 1922. After that, he moved to Paris,
where he met Breton, Léger, Max Ernest, De Chirico, Matisse, Braque and Picasso.
Returned to Rio de Janeiro in 1925. In 1953, divided with Volpi the prize of
best national painter of gBienal de São Pauloh. Participated in the XXVIII
Venicefs Bienal. His work pictures the simpler characters of Brazil on typical
scenery, with much poetry on his characters.
Aldemir Martins – One of the most popular brazilian
artists, born at Ingazeira/CE. Actually above 80 years old, 60 of them dedicated
to art, represents in his works the themes and the colors of Brazil. During the
40fs, he participated at gRenovação Nordestinah in Fortaleza. Since 1946, he
moved to São Paulo. He participated at 1951fs Bienal of São Paulo, in 1955 with
gPrêmio de Desenhoh and in 1975. In 1956 he received gPrêmio de Desenhoh at
Venicefs Bienal. He exhibited his works all over Brazil and also New York and
Paris.
Fukushima - Tikashi Fukushima, born in Japan in 1920, died in São Paulo in 2001.
Arrived in Brazil in 1940, living at Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo. Participated
in various gSalão de Artesh and Bienal of São Paulo in 1951. He was affiliated
to the group of the japanese-brazilian painters of expressive actuation in the
national market. Realized several individual exhibitions, with notability to the
one of gMuseu de Arte Modernah – MAM – in São Paulo in 1961.
Gisele Ulisse - Born at Jundiaí/SP in 1972. Started her artistic production when
8 years old, sculpting in rocks, drawing and painting. What we see today in her
works is the result of much dedication to drawing, through which she expressed
herself before staring to paint. From a human silhouette, her painting
emphasized human figures and faces, mainly pictures of the brazilian people,
like the Indians and their culture. The paintings of Gisele Ulisse are exhibited
and commercialized mainly in galleries of São Paulo, other brazilian states and
in other international locations, like New York, Miami and cities of Switzerland
and Germany. One of his last works received the 1st prize at gArte em Portugalh
exhibition, promoted by gGaleria Cassiano Araújoh and Prize gRuth Escobarh, with
a trip to Portugal.
Élon Brasil - Self taught artist, born in Niterói/RJ, at Jurujuba beach in 1957.
He earned his first gold medal at II PINARTE – SP. When lived in Switzerland,
where he exposed his works, always paintings indians, and became internationally
known, mainly with orders of European collectors.
Da Paz – Born in São Paulo, this artist, whose paintings of typical brazilian
themes like children games, musicians, brazilian scenes, facades and houses
involves us with much poetry and lyricism present in her works. She exhibited
her works in Brazil, Italy, Germany, France, Lisbon and USA. In 1992, her works
were evaluated and bought by Fritz Richard, director of Imports and Exports of
European Art.
Genoud – Natural of Monte Azul Paulista/SP, self taught, painter and
watercolorist since 1960. The themes of his works are flowers and houses.
Admirer of Cézane, Matisse and Monet, directed his paintings with the
impressionist tendency. Actually goes towards the simplification of shapes,
working in the synthesis of his work, abstracting the figuration through color,
texture and perspective.
Gifontt – Born in Castro/PR in 1956. Paint since 9 years old. Dedicated her work
to studies and research of a way of expression that begins farther than
techniques and shapes: the codification of the interior of the soul. Themes like
houses, sea, nature and specially the gInteriorsh, are present in her vast work:
To make present to the public, even if unconscious, the return to the light.
Inos Corradin – Born at Vogna/Italy in 1929. Moved to Brazil in 1950 to the city
of Jundiaí/SP. By using a self technique to define contrasts of dark and clear,
the work of the artist induces a movement inside a modern-figurative-deformed
painting. Self taught artist, created his technique by painting over and over.
In 1976, started his art tour through Europe, being very appreciated by the
public and critics of countries like Italy, USA, France, Netherlands, Austria,
Belgium, Germany, Switzerland and Israel.A .
Pingitori - Antonio Pingitori, born in 1931 at São Paulo/SP. Initiated his
drawing studies when he was 12 years old. Participated of several collective
exhibitions, from gAssociação Paulistana de Belas Artesh, from which he earned a
prize of gSalão da Primaverah. His works are bought by auctioneers and
particulars from all over the world as itfs registered in the book of Julio
Louzada. Themes like flowers, nature with exotic fruits, landscapes and daily
routine scenes are present in his vast work.
DfSolrac - Born in Colina/SP. Showed tendency to painting early. He feels the
necessity of transmitting, in his Works, the happiness and the warmness of his
homeland. His art is like a current whose links are absolutely united forming a
harmonious whole, result of all this years dedicated to painting. Today, his
paintings are located in public and particular patrimonies of several countries
like USA, Germany, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Argentina, Israel, France, Japan
and Chile, among others. In 1987, represented Brazil in Japan, during the event
hOsaka-Inter People Festival 87h.
Helena Sales – The brazilian primitive style, diffused by gnaifh, this one more
elaborated and with technique, is the expression ant the style of this artist.
Reasoning about these interpretations is fundamental to comment the works of
Helena Sales, because the styles get mixed in this artist.
In the gracious works of Helena, the story is of the polite and skillful woman,
who, trying not to saturate the painting with details, suggests to appreciators
the idea that therefs still more, beyond the horizon, maybe on another story or
acrylic painting.
E. Escarião - Born in 1948 at Caruaru/PE. Moved to São Paulo where he studied
and actually teaches drawing, xylography and painting. His work, whose themes
are country side scenes: plantations, harvests and typical scenes, actually gets
mixed with Works that picture the lyricism and the dream in paintings of extreme
poetry.
Agostinho Batista de Freitas – Born in Campinas/SP in 1927, died in the sane
city in 1977. In 1952, he organized his first individual exhibition at gMuseu de
Arte de São Pauloh. Participated in the exhibitions of Venicefs Bienal, Italy,
in 1966, Brazilian Primitives, itinerant exhibit at USA in 1975. Artist whose
primitive style pictured mainly the theme gcityh, gcountrysideh and gdaily
routine of the peopleh.
Heitor dos Prazeres – Born at Rio de Janeiro/RJ in 1898, died in the same city
in 1966. Painter, composer and cabinetmaker. Composed the carnival song gPierrô
Apaixonadoh with Noel Rosa. Started to paint in 1937. In 1946 participates in an
exhibit in homage to the RAF (Royal Air Force) in London (England) where one of
his works was bought by Queen Elizabeth. The themes of his paintings were
gmulatash (brazilian samba dancer), loafers, samba and the favelafs world.
Participated in the International Bienal of São Paulo, since its first edition
in 1951.
Manézinho Araújo - Born in Pernanbuco, in the city of Cabo de Santo Agostinho in
1910 and died in São Paulo in 1993. Painter, carver, serigrapher, singer and
composer.
His naive character painting, fix types and popular themes of the folklore of
Brazil.
Samara – The young artist, dedicated herself to painting since 2000, making
several individual exhibits. The universe of Samarafs works includes great
vertical cities and his residentsf in common daily routine scenes. There are
scenes of cities and countryside, together on a bucolic atmosphere.
A. Szewierenko – Born in São Paulo/SP, the artist, today 59 years old, started
his studies with German director and artist Millo Harbich during the 60fs,
exhibiting his works since 2003. He actually explores the theme gcityh,
especially São Paulo, so poetically pictured in his screens.
