During the colonial period, the house operated as administrative headquarters and
was subsequently bought by Barão de Itambé. Tells the history that Emperor Dom Pedro II was guest in this house during one visit to São João del
Rei, in the occasion of the inauguration of Minas Gerais railroad.
In the construction façade there’s a nice scene of "Passion of Christ", what makes
clear the value of religiosity in the country side. Nowadays it’s a private residence.
