São João Del Rei - Museum - Museu do Estanho

Tin pieces found in ships

Tin pieces found in ships exposed at Museu do Estanho

In its patrimony there are tin objects, some of them found in the first sunk ships on the brazilian coast side. The exhibit also counts with artifacts used in houses and also fabrics that produced pieces with the material. Do not miss the colonial period tin accessories section, where it’s showed how the metal was used in that time.

Museu do Estanho (Tin Museu) is also known as Museu John Somers. There’s a souvenir store.
