Installed in the old workshop building, Museu Ferroviário de São José Del Rei has
a patrimony which includes from old documents, used during the construction of the railroad, to some of the first locomotives made in Brazil.
The space has, for example, the first locomotive of EFOM, which transported Emperor Dom Pedro II in the inauguration of the railroad, besides
the locomotives of Baldwin, a funeral railway wagon and a steam locomotive cut in half, so visitors can see how it works.
In the train station, where the museum operates, there’s also a craftsmanship
center and a convention center.
