Stone of Memory is an obelisk dated from 1841, which has been constructed in
homage to the majority of Emperor Dom Pedro II. Located originally at Campo de Ourique, it was subsequently transferred to Cais da
Sagração.
It’s made of pedra de cantaria and also receives the name of Baluarte de São Cosme
e Damião. The monument is protected by the walls of the old São Felipe Fortress and is surrounded by two cannons.
